How to grant staff permissions to your Shopify store?
Sometimes, you need to grant temporary access to someone to your Shopify store’s admin panel. Depending on their role, you may grant them access to your store. Some of the staff permissions that will be granted to them are:
- Edit the product listing and inventories
- Edit, delete, and export the orders
- Manage discounts and coupons
- Manage marketing campaigns
- Access reporting
To grant someone staff permissions to your Shopify store, follow the steps:
Step 1: Log in to your store’s admin panel.
Step 2: Down in the left-hand side toolbar, click on Settings.
Step 3: Click on Users and Permissions.
Step 4: To give access, click on Add Staff.
Step 5: Here, you can add the staff’s name, and email address, and choose the permissions that you want to grant.
Step 6: Once you’ve completed the permissions, click on Send Invite.
Soon after this, the staff member will receive an email. If they are just a beginner, they must follow the steps mentioned in the email to create a staff account. Either way, they can log in with their Shopify ID and password.
How to grant collaborator permissions to your Shopify store?
If you’re working with any agency, you may want to grant them permission to your Shopify store without giving them staff permissions since the number of staff members is limited.
To add them as your collaborator, you can do so through your own Shopify Partner Dashboard. Select permissions that you need to grant them as a collaborator.
If you’re willing to grant them access to your Shopify store as a collaborator, they will be required to send you a request first.
If you’ve enabled the request access code, in that case, you need to share the code with the person who’ll be your collaborator in your Shopify store.
This way, you can add them as your collaborator.
How to request collaborator access to your Shopify Store?
If you are an agency or freelancer who requires access to your client’s Shopify store, then you need to request access. For that, you need to login into your Shopify Partner panel. If you haven’t created one by now, easily create your account by entering some of your credentials.
Once you’ve created your Shopify Partner account, follow the below-mentioned steps:
Step 1: Log in to your Shopify Partner account.
Step 2: On the upper-most corner of the page, you’ll find Stores. Click on it.
Step 3: Click on Add Store.
Step 4: Next, you will be asked to choose a store type. Go for Managed Store.
Step 5: You need to enter the URL for the Shopify store you want to gain access to. And, choose the permissions you want access to.
Step 6: Lastly, include a personalized message and click on the Save button.
After this, your client will receive an email on their ID and a notification will appear on their Shopify Partner’s homepage to let them know that you have requested access to their Shopify store.
How to remove access from your Shopify Partner?
If in case, you aren’t working with the freelancer or agency you granted access to, you may want to remove them as your collaborator. For that, follow the steps:
- Click on the stores in the Shopify Partners dashboard.
- Locate the store to which you want to remove access.
- Click on Remove Access and then Remove Store.
